Alex Offerman is co-founder of Model Wealth and a Senior Financial Planner with the firm. He serves as the point person and lead planner for a great deal of the project work we do on behalf of our clients at Model Wealth.

Alex is widely considered to be a rising young star in the financial planning profession. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Financial Planning Association of Illinois (FPA-Illinois) from 2018 through 2023, with a two-year role as President (2021-2022). He also served on the advisory task force behind FPA’s 2018 Annual Conference, the world’s single largest gathering of CFP® professionals.

In 2019, Alex was chosen as one of just eight industry leaders across the nation to comprise FPA’s Advocacy Task Force. This small group would decide the organization’s stance on various government policy initiatives, and play a critical role in shaping laws that protect American consumers of financial services.

Alex has served on numerous other committees for FPA®, has been asked to speak in front of the financial planning programs at major universities, and is part of a small team that meets with Illinois state lawmakers in Springfield each year to discuss important financial matters affecting the public.

Alex enjoys reading, is an avid golfer, and is a University of Michigan enthusiast. He graduated from Aurora University with degrees in finance, accounting, and business management, and he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He and his wife Abby live in Shorewood, Illinois with their dog Lola.
